Moderators of AskHistorians: do people who are irritated with the strict rules of the sub ever derisively refer to it as "AssKisstorians"

by Max1461

I love this sub and its strict moderation alike, seriously you all do a great job and you've made this one of the most productive, interesting spaces on reddit <3

Also I'm 100% unironically curious if I'm the first person to think of this pun, so this is technically a history question

Going through Camas Search and a Google search restricted to the sub reveals no hits on either engine. Unless both databases have somehow managed to miss a buried mention of it, you appear to be the first person to use the wordplay on this sub!

We've had some people report this using this macro:

Non-History Question, 'Basic Facts' Request, 'What-If', or Valuation Request

Interestingly - and perhaps uniquely - it could fall under all four of these categories, in that the sub is less than 20 years old (and therefore not 'history' by our rules); the answer is a basic fact (it's a yes/no question, so can't be answered in the depth required by our rules; it's a question about a situation that only exists hypothetically (we don't ever get complaints about moderation, what would give you that idea); and, finally, the value of the pun is somewhere between 'awful' and 'atrocious'.

Gankom

You'll be happy to know that both my parents make the exact same joke all the time. So at least there's some poor souls out there chuckling about the same thing.
