Just how much was bronze advantageous to copper in the bronze age?

Considering tin was expensive and rare, and they still kept buying it to make bronze I wonder whether this was actually worth it.

Bronze is much harder than copper. It also is easier to cast and it takes and keeps an edge better than copper. Although tin needed to be imported by many of the classic Bronze Age cultures, it was not impossible to procure and trade routes were well established so tin could be available.

The extensive deposits of tin are part of the geological feature that runs from Brittany through Cornwall and into the southwest of Ireland. Brittainy and specially Cornwall were noted for tin exports. The same was true for certain deposits in central Europe and Afghanistan.

The advantages of bronze over copper are considerable and anyone wanting better tools or weapons will opt from bronze over copper any day.
