There are always more recommendations that can be made, but the subreddit's booklist provides a great starting point for reading, and I know a number of them are available in Audiobook form. I would particularly single out Martin Meredith's The Fate of Africa as one I listened to as an audiobook based on its placement on the booklist, and I was not disappointed.
