On the matter of miracles, I'm afraid those don't fall under the field of history. Miracles do not fossilise and cannot be analysed by the historical method. The closest we can come is to examine how people of the time thought about miracles and how they were affected. Any and all analysis of miracles is for the Theology Department next building down.
