A video has been going around on Twitter today of British politician Jacob Rees-Mogg making some (seemingly to me) shocking claims about Boer War concentration camps.
His claims seem to be:
- The South African concentration camps had exactly the same mortality rate as existed in Glasgow at the time
- The people were put into camps for their own protection
- It was not systematic murder
- People were taken to the camps so that they could be fed.
Is there any truth to these claims?
