From what I've read, "The Died With Their Boots On", which was released on November 21, 1941, was Warner Bros third most successful film of 1941. Which suggests that Americans audiences were watching a movie about losing even as they were coping with the stunning waves of Japanese attacks.

It seems like the last movie Americans would've wanted see in December 1941.
