Constantine and the walls of Constantinople

by SamAls1999

I'm currently writing my Masters dissertation on Constantine and remember reading somewhere the story that he was shown the borders/perimeter of Constantinople by Christ/God.

Does anyone know where I could find the source of this? I've looked in Eusebius' Life of Constantine (where I thought it was) but haven't had any look

Many thanks

The paper Constantine's Constantinople: A Christian Emperor, A Pagan City by Mary Balzer mentions the legend in the following lines:

Sozomen, writing in the fifth century, tells us that Constantine, “[i]n obedience to God, …enlarged the city formerly called Byzantium, and surrounded it with high walls.” Likewise, the Easter Chronicle relates how “Constantine, having become the sole emperor, founded Byzantium, after receiving an oracle that the empire was about to perish, and became Christian.”.

Footnotes 9 and 10 detail the sources.
