Recently I delved into American history and got myself interested into inner machinations of said government-insitutes.
Pls can somebody direct me into some books about the topic especially about J. Edgar Hoover.

I personally found Tim Weiner's Legacy of Ashes: The History of the CIA an interesting read. It discusses a lot of the agency's less public failures, dating back to near it's inception. You should know, though, that the book is somewhat controversial. See this review in American Diplomacy and this (somewhat more anecdotal) r/AskHistorians post.
