This may be the wrong reddit for this. My apologies if it is.
My father was a nut job and kept many pamphlets (Basically a book with staples for the hinges, very basic) on several German related conspiracy theories.
These documents are certainly nothing worthwhile as academic discussion goes, but I wanted to ask if they may be worth sharing for the sake of discussion regarding these issues.
I would like to dispose of them because they are hateful and obnoxious. But I also think its important to preserve stuff like this as references. Especially since much of it is prior to internet spaces, and digital preservation.
I'm happy to be wrong, so let me know!
They're definitely worthwhile! Where they may provide little in factual information, they would highlight the concerns of individuals at that point in time. The popular belief of shadowy cabals nowadays dictating the goings of the world highlights the inconsequentialism people feel about their existence.
I'm going to assume that because you said German and hateful, those pamphlets are some not so kind words about Jewish people - for one, they provide some factual information in regards to how the Nazi party propagated it's beliefs, where these were directed, and the media (and type) of which it used. They provide insight as to what the people it was directed at would feasibly believe - remember that the best propaganda does not teach new beliefs, but reinforces existing ones. If the German people already has suspicions of the stab in the back, looking at how the party reinforced that concept would provide a greater insight as to how exactly it evolved and build a more accurate historical narrative.
You didn't mention a date, which is unfortunate - you could also compare the earlier propaganda to later, and look at how that evolved from pre-election to post.
All in all, there is historical merit to hateful propaganda - please never destroy it! We can't learn from the past if we revise it to suit our modern sensibilities.
