Hey everyone, I’m doing a research project for my history course that is extremely important, I was wondering if anyone knew anyone good sites, books, documentaries or any other sources of information on the Pearl harbour attack, preferably information specific to a certain aspect of the attack (Japanese perspective, eye witness accounts etc) please help!!
u/SnarkMasterRay has a Pearl Harbour reading list that will be most helpful for your purposes.
Of these, I recommend you start with Zimm. In his own words regarding the scope of the book, "The primary objective is to examine the Japanese planning, execution, and post-battle analysis of the attack, in the context of their overall strategy." You can then proceed to mine the footnotes from there.
One important caveat. In the course of your research, it is highly likely that you may come across Fuchida Mitsuo. Should you have reason to look into any of his statements, note well that Fuchida Mitsuo is a lying liar who lies. This is not just my opinion - this is the considered judgment of historians both American and Japanese.
