I am Colombian and my cousin recently got malaria! Although she seems to be in good condition and healthy, she is still obviously sick. Now, Im no history buff but I like to read and watch history channels on youtube and the main disease I hear about in the African continent is malaria. This got me thinking about how malaria might've been brought over by the mass enslavement of western African peoples in the Americas. I know the boats were filled to the brim with slaves and probably disease ridden. So did African slaves accidentally bring the malaria virus to South America? Help bring my curiosity to rest!!
