In short, they would most probably had not heard of such a historical figure active in the far western part of the steppes and whose tradition did not survive even in Arab/ Persian historical writing (as that of Alexander the Great certainly did), as I summarized before in: Did the Mongols have any knowledge of Attila or the Huns and their origins?.
