While there's always a reason for someone to give a modern answer as it's entirely possible new information has been discovered in the last year or so, /u/soulstealer1984 compiled this list of previous answers several years ago and I made this list about a year ago.

Going through those - the quick answer appears to be "Booby traps are a creation of pulp fiction writers of the early 20th century and/or a misunderstanding by archeologists in the 1800s, and any lethal mechanisms in tombs appear to have caused accidental death, not intentional"
