Cuban Revolution books?

by youngrower99

Hi all, I am new to this sub and was wondering if anyone had any links to academic books or articles on the Cuban Revolution as I’m looking for source to write a college paper on?

"Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life" by Jon Lee Anderson has come up before as a good source. Obviously it's primarily about Che Guevara but as someone who was instrumental for the revolution there's a large degree of overlap. I've also heard that "Cuba: A New History" by Richard Gott and "That Infernal Little Cuban Republic" by Lars Shoultz are quite good.

There's no shortage of primary sources on this, mostly compilations of speeches and writings of Castro, though these should not be taken solely at face value. There's also "The Motorcycle Diaries" which deals with Ches early life, not the revolution but notable nontheless.

For a basic and broad overview of modern Cuba that isn't a book: the German documentary "Cuba Libre" which is currently available on netflix is a fairly decent documentary that will give a good overview.
