What types of guns were used in Seymour Expedition during the Boxer Rebellion?

In Chinese sources, mostly anecdotal, in description of warfare in the time of Boxer Rebellion, I found mentioning of a British gun that fired poison gas (in Chinese: 列低炮). Which gun are they referring to and what were its characteristics?

The Allied forces were NOT using chemical weapons. HOWEVER, the British were using shells filled with Lyddite, a high explosive made from picric acid. As picric acid is poisonous, it was believed at the time that when Lyditte-filled shells exploded, they produced a toxic gas that killed by poisoning the enemy. However, this turned out to not be true; Lyddite was the first major "high explosive", and when a shell detonated it produced a violent blast shock wave that killed by concussive force -- a form of death that was misinterpreted to have been caused by the chemical composition of the Lyddite, rather than by the HE explosion itself. -- As to the guns used, are you referring to the rifles, or the cannons?
