Washington DC had a slave trade that happened inside of the Capitol. I had heard it happened at the mall as well. How did foreign ambassadors and dignitaries react to the slave trade and what was said about it by them?
I haven't found evidence of slave trading in the capitol building. Is there a source for that? Perhaps the reference was to the capital, the larger area designated as Washington, D.C.?
