If the original language of the Bible wasn’t Latin, why was there so much hubbub about translating the Bible into vernacular?

Much more can always be said about this pretty vast topic, but there are a couple of past answers that should help:

Very briefly the problem wasn't really about translating the Bible in non-Latin vernaculars in general, as long as it was by/with the approval of the church. They didn't want random translators to misunderstand things and possibly mislead people,
