I find this really interesting and want to learn more. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
For an introduction, labor historian Erik Loomis wrote the excellent “A History of America in Ten Strikes”. It’s a synthetic work (little original research, mostly drawing from other works), but it cites its sources so it functions as a very short (like 200 pages of simple text) extended table of contents.
This recommendation means more coming from me because Loomis is pretty infamously, uh, not a nice person and I’ve personally had negative interactions with him (so you might see weird criticisms of him which are actually not related to his work). That said, he is a good scholar and his work is solid.
Are there any specific periods/questions you are interested in from there? It sounds like you want to learn about the global labor movement too?
