This might sound stupid, but did people get health problems like cholesterol or high BP and other problems we see today linked to high intake of alcohol consumption and did they die of alcoholism?
If your refering to the idea that ancient people drank alcohol all the time, u/DanKensington has a great answere here. Which explains that this is a myth. Otherwise people before modernity were biologically the same, so they had the same health problems in relation to substance abuse that a modern human would.
