Was there any presence of the Italian Mafia in Argentina, similar to the U.S.?

In the early 20th century, there was a large influx of Italians to the United States, especially Southern Italy, and with it came the Italian Mafia, which gained quite a prominent foothold there. Since Argentina also received a large number of Italian immigrants, was there such similar presence of the Mafia there? If so, I'd like to know more about the Italian Mafia present there. If not, what was the reason the Mafia didn't become as established there?

Not really that much, as compared to the US. Main differense of course was that the Italian Mafia originated on the South of Italy. Most of the italians who emmigrate to the US were from the South of italy. Mainwhile in Argentina mostly of the italians that came in the migratory waves came from the north of Italy.

Don't mistake me I am not generalizing. Of course, not all south italians were gangsters, and not all north italians were saints either.
