I was recently watching Vikings: Valhalla, which like most historical fiction on TV is not exactly a perfect retelling. I noticed they used catapults to defend a city from longships. The city is fictional, I hardly expect the show to give accurate depictions of events, it just made me wonder if 11th century vikings would even have catapults.
