A related question: Did the conditions of the Jewish community of Constantinople improve following Ottoman conquest compared to while under Christian rule? Did they gain additional rights, or better access to resources? Greater opportunities for employment? Was it worse (i.e. fewer rights, heavier taxes, etc)? Or was it really just more of the same?
