Can someone recommend me good peer reviewed sources for my essay on the Patriots Rebellion in Canada 1837-1838?

I don't know if this is the right place to ask (if there is a better place just let me know)

I have some primary sources to use that have pointed out what happened and who were the important historical figures and I read stuff on lots of different encyclopedias but my professor wants peer reviewed sources as well as the primary sources. I feel that I'm out of my ball park here because I can't seem to understand how to reliably check if a source is peer reviewed and I just keep running into sources that seem super biased.

I just need some sources that talk about both sides of the conflict, so the British opinion on the matter and the Rebel's opinion on the matter.
