Personally, as I don’t speak German to my infinite shame, I would highly recommend Iron Kingdom: The Rise and Downfall of Prussia, 1600-1947 which as far as I have been able to search is one of the best English books on the history of Prussia out there and highly informative and a rather enjoyable read too.
