Do you have any specific area of Roman history you’re into? Like military, politics, religion, the Republic (early or late), the Empire, etc? Cause there honestly aren’t going to be very many books that cover all of Roman history even in a very general sense, it’s a LOT of stuff, honestly I can’t think of any off the top of my head. But obviously there’s countless books that cover numerous different, more specific, topics, and it would be much easier to recommend certain books/historians with a little bit more to work with on that front.
That being said I think, emphasis on think because it’s been a long time since I even looked at it, that Mary Beard’s SPQR covers the majority of the Roman Republic and some of the early Empire.
