Not public executions, but do we have records of how often people people were put to death by the French government? It has been hard to find resources for me because everything gets overstocked by the Reign of Terror when I try to look information up.
I couldn't find any other source quickly, but my penal law lecturer gave us some figures explaining how rare was the death penalty during the Old Regime.
He gave us numbers of capital sentences for the Parliament of Paris (old term, used to designate the Tribunal of Paris, which had additional prerogatives that are very interesting to learn about if you are interested in the French Revolution) during and before the Revolution :
The last ones seems in line with the crushing of Lyon in 1793, where about 1700 people were executed (mostly by grapeshot).
