In very short answer, Yes.
In Japanese, it is fairly easy to find some statistics of food and other daily good donated to Japan by LARA: The Licensed Agencies for Relief in Asia. To give an example, this site of Health and Welfare Information Association (in Japanese) have some pdf files of the summaries of Lara, founded by about a dozen Christian as well as volunteer associations in USA and led by Esher B. Rhoads (This file has a table of the given goods from 1946-52.....in Japanese).
