So many Renaissance powerhouses came from Florence — Dante, Pacioli, Galileo, Boccaccio, Petrarch, Machiavelli, Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo, Fra Filippo Lippi, Michelangelo, Ghiberti, Brunelleschi. What was in their water? Why did they produce so many artists/innovators per capita?
