Best source for Amazigh or Algerian history?

by zrecked

Most things I find don't go farther than the 1800's. I am kabayli myself, and aside from the stories passed down from my grandparents to my parents, and then to me, there's not much else I can find. And even if I do find something, it's typically extremely biased...

I would appreciate if someone could refer me to some authentic/reputable sources, books, or even a youtube video. Lol, i'll take anything. I just wanna learn more about my history and the impacts of phonecians, romans, ottoman turks, etc.

Hey, in terms of Kabyle history the reason it’s sometimes harder to find is because it’s not popularised to learn and North African history doesn’t seem to be taught much even in North Africa. For Kabyle you might find the Kutama Berber period interesting. It’s basically when the amazigh from east Algeria and Tunisia/Libya started the third largest Islamic Caliphate, they established the city of Cairo and the new Fatimid dynasty which rules over Morocco today. Their empire stretched from the Maghreb to northern Syria, and the Arabian Peninsula.
