If I wanted to do a tour of the locations of India where Alexander the Great's campaign was, where would you advise me to go?

Later this year I plan to do a tour of the areas of india where Alexander the Great would have ventured and fought the ancient Indian leaders/warriors. I am not a hardcore historian, but I enjoy learning about history. I know very little about Alexander's campaign of India, but reading up a little on it, I am intrigued and want to know and learn more, and especially visit the key locations, both of the battles and where the Indian leaders of the time would have lived. I would love some suggestions on this if you can provide it. Thank you.

I'm afraid you will not find any such locations in India. Alexander reached what the ancient Greeks called India, but never reached the boundaries of the modern state of India. The Greeks used this name to indicate all lands from the Indus valley to the (hypothesized) eastern edge of the world's landmass. Alexander entered this region from the west, crossing the Hindu Kush into what is now eastern Afghanistan and Pakistan. After crossing the Indus and several other rivers, with the end of the world still not in sight, Alexander turned south and followed the Hyphasis (modern Beas) and Indus to the coast. All of the places we can reasonably identify are currently in Pakistan. Here is a map tracing his advance.
