I'm brushing up on my knowledge of history; I'm using a timeline from one of my textbooks. The problem is it only covers Western Civilization; and I want to read about the east too. Is there any timeline anyone can recommend?
A personal favourite is John Darwin's After Tamerlane: The Global History of Empire since 1405. It's a well-written and remarkably concise global history centring on Eurasia as a whole over the past six centuries, as an overall survey and a starting-off point for finding more specific stuff I would highly recommend.
