Translated or written in English. I’m thinking of getting a tattoo of her but I want to be sure I’m well educated on her life first.
I've written about this previously here, and most of those recommendations would stand for this, I think.
If what you're after is a general overview so that when someone asks you about your tattoo you can respond from a position of knowledge, I'd suggest the Castor book in the linked comment is probably the best bet. If you want to go deeper and start engaging with the primary sources, either of the suggested translations would be grand, but that's a more complex and more academic approach/project.
As a by-the-by (and you may be aware of this) we do actually have a contemporary illustration of Joan of Arc that I've always thought would make a good tattoo. It's taken from the Paris record book of May 1429 (right after Joan liberated the city), and was drawn by Clément de Fauquembergue, the notary of the parliament of Paris. Clément had never actually seen Joan, so it's a caricature rather than a portrait, but I'm quite fond of it nonetheless. It can be seen here, the left-hand image. Obviously you'll have your own tattoo plan, but just thought I'd draw your attention to this, as I'm not sure how well known it is outside academia.
If you've got any further questions about Joan or sources on Joan, do feel free to reply here or drop me a message - happy to help.
