As the title states, did Native American tribes tax their tribe members, whether it was in food, materials, or manpower, did they tax or was it unique to the eastern hemisphere?
Is there a particular group or region you're interested in? There were (and are) a great many groups spread out across the Americas, and their political and economic systems varied widely.
While you await further discussion, you might be interested in reading about the two societies most often discussed as having "taxes" in the Pre-Columbian Americas: the Incas and the Aztecs. Communities typically payed their tribute to the Inca state in labor hours - a system known as the mit'a. I discussed it briefly in an answer and follow up comment here. u/400-Rabbits had a great answer on Aztec tribute organization. Those two societies were both territorially expansive empires, and their collection of tribute largely mirrors territorially expansive empires in other parts of the world.
