I am interested in learning ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. Where do I start?

I'm assuming you mean the language, yes?

The obvious choice is to enroll in your local university's egyptology department.

But you can also cover the very basics by yourself.

First, you need to decide at which stage of language you want to start. The usual to start is Middle Egyptian, spoken from the 21st to 16th century BCE and the classical language for many centuries to come. From there, you can later depart to Old Egyptian and Late Egyptian.

Coptic, the very latest stage of the language, is interesting as well, and comparably easy to start to learn because it uses a modified Greek alphabet. You can get accustomed to some phenomena and vocabulary while still using a pronounceable script.

So for Middle Egyptian, there is

James P. Allen: Middle Egyptian. An Introduction to the Language and Culture of Hieroglyphs. 2nd edition, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge u. a. 2010.

which is quite alright to work through.

For Coptic

Bentley Layton: Coptic in 20 Lessons. Introduction to Sahidic Coptic with Exercises & Vocabulary. Peeters, Leeuven, Paris, Dudley 2007.

The people at r/ancientegyptian will be happy to help more.

There are apps for Android that include a dictionary and flash cards to learn the hieroglyphs.
