Why did Italy and Japan side with Germany in WWII?

That being said, your premise is faulty in the sense that the Nazis were obviously not viewed as "the bad guys" to their allies, not to mention the thousands of public figures who were sympathetic to Nazi Germany in both allied and neutral countries before, during, and after the war. Hitler as ensured that the Japanese were considered "honorary Aryans," and there was never such a strong racial animosity towards the Italians as there was towards Jews, Slavs, and Romani peoples in Nazi Germany.
