You may be interested in the bio u/DGBD wrote about Joseph Bologne, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges when AskHistorians debuted a series of new Snoos last year. Bologne was a mixed-race composer born to a French planter and an enslaved woman in Guadeloupe, who would, among other things, become a highly prominent composer and musician in pre-Revolutionary Paris, and raise an all-Black regiment during the French revolutionary wars.
