I don’t really understand what you mean about being colonised by the English. In 1603 the Scottish king James VI also inherited the English throne. In 1707, following their failed colonial ventures in South America, the Scottish parliament voted to join with England in the Act of Union, creating Great Britain. This new nation then went on to colonise many others around the world.
