Why does so much black plague literature focus on Medieval Europe? Everything I read mentions China or Mongolia as backdrop then focuses almost exclusively on Europe.

While more can always be said on the topic, OP can check previous answers to the similar question by /u/Anekdota-Press/ (and also by me, /u/y_sengaku) before in: Has China ever experienced epidemics on the scale of the Black Death, Plague of Justinian or Plague of Galen, all of which wiped out a significant proportion of the European population?
