Was the final battle in "All Quiet on the Western Front" historically accurate?

*Spoilers ahead for the 2022 film "All Quiet on the Western Front*

In the new German film on Netflix, "All Quiet on the Western Front," an armistice is agreed upon by the French and German that all fighting will cease at 11 AM on November 11th, 1918.

However, in the film, the German commander sends his troops on a last minute attack to reclaim a piece of territory, minutes before the cease fire goes into effect.

I'm wondering if there was a final attack like this, or if it was a creative choice by the filmmakers.

Thank you!
