What are some good books about sexuality in Ancient Rome?

by moominmallow

I've been reading Otto Kiefer's 'Sexual Life in Ancient Rome' which is considered by some to be driven more by the author's personal feeling than fact. I'm looking for more reading that could expand my view on Ancient Roman sexual life, particularly 'perverse' sexuality and links between sexuality, cruelty and hedonism.

I highly recommend Craig A. William's "Roman Sexuality"! It's super in depth on sexuality and what factors determined someone's sexuality back then, prostitutes and their importance (they even had a national holiday) and how some of the Roman emperors and Senators presented themselves as feminine even though they identified as men. Overall a really good read~
