G/f is finishing up her degree with art history and this question came up.
I found this article: http://artdaily.com/news/7839/Van-Gogh-Museum-Acquires-Gustave-Caillebotte-Work#.WSClJ2iGM2w
But it didn't really go into why the museum is choosing to host these pieces from other impressionists, only that they are underrepresented.
I am actually curious myself.

I was watching a WW2 documentary and it briefly mentioned Nazi baby factories, I was wondering what the aftermath of it all was.
Here is the part of the documentary I saw it mentioned in: https://youtu.be/jfRq-JeUCSM?t=1h48m15s

As in, did people also help handicapped people into hiding? How did the nazi authorities distinguish who they murdered and who could "pass"? Also, considering the large numbers of handicapped people that were murdered in Germany, how did the post-war handicapped care restart?

I heard on a podcast recently that MLK despised Ebonics and black culture, and wished for black people to integrate into white culture, rather than having their own subset. Is this true? Can anyone provide sources - I couldn't find much in google.

Story goes my friends uncles grandmother was the wife of a sergeant in ww2 and was allowed on base in Germany. I guess the husband left her and she got a job as a secretary and acquired some interesting items. Will post pics in comments

Some specifics: I'm concentrating in American history (albeit w/ some interest in philosophy/political theory) and plan to teach at the secondary level. I can't get certified at my school as an undergrad, so I'll probably end up doing a public MAT/Cert program.
There have been some threads concerning what undergrads should/shouldn't do to prepare for their postgraduate history studies, but since I'm avoiding that, how I can get as much out of just undergraduate-level history as possible?
Any advice - specific classes, summer programs, schedule structure - would be greatly appreciated.

/r/Documentaries has just brought this submission to the front page. I'd watch the documentary, but as I'm extremely ignorant on the matter I couldn't tell an accurate historical analysis to an imaginative attempt of historical revisionism.

Today:
Saturday Reading and Research will focus on exactly that: the history you have been reading this week and the research you've been working on. It's also the prime thread for requesting books on a particular subject. As with all our weekly features, this thread will be lightly moderated.
So, encountered a recent biography of Stalin that revealed all about his addiction to ragtime piano? Delved into a horrendous piece of presentist and sexist psycho-evolutionary mumbo-jumbo and want to tell us about how bad it was? Need help finding the right book to give the historian in your family? Then this is the thread for you!

Seriously, did they have technology I'm not aware of? It's like a 2000 mile journey.

Also, after the war ended, what was done with all the leftover items taken from the camps? We see huge piles of glasses, shoes, clothing, etc. Was this all just tossed or burned?

From 8:5 in 1 Corinthians
"as in fact there are many gods and many lords"
Is he saying other gods exist or that other people believe in other gods?

They were the largest pre-colonial African government, yet I don't see anywhere how did they got annexed by France and if there were any fights between the Songhalis and the French.
I think it's just strange. Ethiopia survived the Scramble, but Songhai didn't.
