Dissertation: Help with primary source methodology

First post! :)

So, I'm currently writing a 10,000 word undergrad dissertation for my history degree. The aim of my dissertation is to analyze medieval attitudes to nature and the natural environment. In order to do this, I am using around 20 different pieces of medieval travel writing (Marco Polo, Mandeville...). I am analyzing the text to see what the authors thought about nature- beautiful, scary, worthless? Given that this is a partly subjective exercise, do you have any suggestions for the methodology I might approach? I would like to compare and get the most from the pieces, but because this hasn't been done before, I'm not quite sure how to go about it.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

To what extent can the pre-Roman tribes of Britain (such as Boudica's Iceni) be considered 'nations'?

I understand there's probably no proper definition of nation, but what would the government be like for these 'tribes'? Would there be taxes? Precise borders? A unified military?

Identity of the people in England during the early middle ages

Today we call the inhabitants who lived in England after the anglo-saxon invasion for "Anglo-Saxons".

So what I know is that they created four major realms; East Anglia, Northumbria, Mercia, and Wessex, in addition to some minor ones.

What I'm wondering about is what identity those inhabitants assumed. Did they identify with their respective kingdoms? Or did they still call themselves Saxons, Angles, Jutes etc..?

I've been watching the show "Vikings" lately, and I've always liked this period in English history.
