Doing a debate and I can't find much research to defend myself. Any way to defend myself or place the blame on another country?

I was surprised to learn today that Arsenal comes from the Arabic for manufacturing shop (or something similar). Why did the Venetians use an Arabic term? Was this common in Italy at the time? Wasn't there a perfectly good Italian word they could have used instead? Was the use of Arabic similar to the use of Latin for more "refined" terminology? Are there any other buildings in Venice that follow a similar naming scheme?

Especially in countries with large indigenous populations like Bolivia and Ecuador.

Working on a movie script and couldn't find any information on suicide during Roman times.

How were these people brought to modern-day Iraq, Syria, and Iran?

What did countries such as Spain speak or what alphabet did they use before the expansion of the Roman Empire? I know that Gaelic was quite different than it's modern counterpart, was it the same for other languages?

I know that the Franks were originally a Western Germanic tribe that conquered most of West Francia under Clovis, and later kings. But during these times, they were still Germanic, so what factors led to them being the French that we know today?

I know this has probably been asked before, but this is something I've always wondered about.

Just saw Fury, and, without too many spoilers here are some things i'd be intrigued to know more about:

-Were some of the daily goings on (breaking into people's homes, smoking/drinking all day on breaks, etc.) things that would have happened in ww2?

-Were the battle tank strategies/operational scenes accurate enough so as to pass as reasonable?

-Would Brad Pitt's character reasonably be expected to not be called by his rank (as he specifically requests of a lower rank in one scene)?

-Were there anything that stuck out as patently WRONG, be they in terms of army operations, tank operations, or otherwise?

As soon as personal testimonies, video and photographic evidence and more started to become available, when it wasn't just rumours and heresay, but actual proof of what was happening, how long was it for the denial movement to start? And what was the nature of the early denial argument?

When the India-Pakistan war of 1947 was fought, although India and Pakistan were both brand-new independent states, it seems to me that Pakistan had much more serious disadvantages: they were a smaller state, governing two widely-separated noncontiguous territories, and (if I understand correctly), India enjoyed some British assistance whereas Pakistan did not.

Yet Pakistan managed to hold onto one third of Kashmir. Why didn't India curb-stomp Pakistan?

I wanted to learn a little bit about Irish history and decided to watch this on Netflix. I guess I was a little skeptical about how Damien was murdered by his brother after the vote for independence.

Reading through some things, I came across the concept in both Rome and Ancient Greece of the Agnostos Theos or "Unknown God." From what I read, I got two different interpretations of the idea.

1.) "The unrevealed God". The idea essentially is that there were Gods that were not known to them that they still wanted to curry favor with. Therefore they would pray to them and offer sacrifices in a manner that could be described as "covering all their bases."

2.) "Whichever God handles this." Essentially that when you wanted to receive the blessing of the Gods, but didn't know which one to pray to, you prayed to The Unknown God in order to make sure that you at least tried to communicate with them.

The information I have found seems to point toward the first option mostly, but there is some hinting, at least in the Roman world, of the second concept.
