The Holocaust vs. Armenian and Chinese genocides

How comparable is the historical support for the Holocaust (which appears to be undeniable among mainstream historians) to other 20th century genocides such as in Armenia and Manchuria? I note that both belligerents in those conflicts (Turkey and Japan) have a history of denying and downplaying their actions - how justified are they in doing so? Do they stand against the historical consensus, or do they represent a small but legitimate minority perspective?

Finally, are there any other genocides or similar events from modern history that everyone should know about?

The will of warfare. Europe vs. The US

That the US has been in war for many years during its lifespan as an independent nation os quite clear. This includes both world wars. But since World War II and the formation of the Steel And Coal Union, which eventually lead to the EU, most nations in Europe seem to have been hesitant in going to war, and have not been contributing with the same force or will to go to war as the US. (to my understanding)

This has lead me to question, how much impact the destructions on European soil have on the will of going to war for the European nations compared to the will of going to war for the US.

In which period did the wealth disparity between the lowest classes in society and the highest classes reach the astronomical gap it is today?

So I'm actually a classical historian myself and was discussing Solon's classes based on wealth in Classical Athens with my students. Under that system we can see even the to be one of the rare few to be considered in the richest class of Athenians could have a wealth of only 20 times the wealth needed for a family of 5 to merely eat and survive.

Now this is obviously a miniscule amount of wealth disparity compared to the modern day (for example here in Australia the Prime Minister gets paid 40 times the amount that the government believes is needed for a person to literally survive and nothing else, and he gets paid pittance compared to the owners, board members, etc. of large businesses).

Now my students asked how/when that disparity changed so much, I had to guess around the Industrial Revolution... but I'm not a modern historian or an economics historian so I'm hoping there's some experts on here that can help.

Were the majority of men in “olden times” up for rape whenever the opportunity presented itself, or is this just made up for the sake of drama in period pieces?

Sorry for the use of “olden times” but I really do mean anything set in the West from, say, the Middle Ages until the 19th Century. There’s rape everywhere. Accurate?

Did Charlemagne ever receive a brass water clock?

So I was on a comment section of a video about the Islamic golden age and there was this guy that says that Charlemagne receive a brass water clock by the Abbasid caliph in Baghdad, Harun al-Rashid in 807 ad

What he also says is that they (Charlemagne and the Frank's) though that the clock was which craft.

Did he receive a clock like that ?

Did they think that it was which craft ?

Also, how did Europeans reacted to such things as mechanical clocks, moving (statues?) like those in Constantinople (lions that roared and moved and golden birds that sing)

Thanks in advance

How did the Greeks keep the phalanx when the Roman's dropped it?

I'm aware that in the VERY early days of rome, they used a phalanx type formation in battle. However, when they moved throughout italy they found that the hilly terrain made it difficult to use so they dropped it in favour of maniples. The question is that Greece is also incredibly hilly in many areas. How did they deal with this issue and did they attempt to change much?

What caused Hitler to become so antisemitic?

This question has probably already been posted here and discussed countless times, but I'm interested as to know what was it that caused Hitler to develop his antisemitic views? Was it something personal, or was it a more widespread sentiment among the German people in the time period between the two world wars?

How was rape an effective way of spreading genes if most women spent their entire fertile years pregnant?

I was looking into the history of tampons (I started thinking, "how the fuck did women exist before plastics?) and i found very interesting things about wooden sticks in Egypt padded with cotton, free bleeding hasn't been a thing.

I'm a man who just thinks about shit for too long.

The book and article I found made an explicit note that it wasn't really that much of a problem because, if you could get a period, you were more than likely pregnant anyway. So that got me thinking, if the vast majority of women were constantly pregnant, then... how is raping a city after a siege very effective?

Say 20% of the population isn't pregnant, between miscarriage, complications, disease, and the intentional killing of rape babies, wouldn't... it not impact the gene pool very much?

I'm talking about pre-industrial societies mostly.

The establishment of a central bank is 90% of communizing a nation. - Lenin. Can anybody confirm this quote?

A friend send me this, but im sceptical about the quote. When I asked for a source, he linked me this page https://pgoeltz.wordpress.com/tag/the-establishment-of-a-central-bank-is-90-of-communizing-a-nation-these-jewish/ Which isn't a source. But it claims "The Jewish Post International Edition, week ending January 24th 1991, confirms Vladimir Lenin was Jewish. Lenin is also on record as having stated,

“The establishment of a central bank is 90% of communizing a nation.”

These Jewish, Rothschild funded Bolsheviks would go on in the course of history to slaughter 60 million Christians and Non-Jews in Soviet controlled territory."

Now this doesn't really promise hope. But google scholar shows a book which contains the quote. Its called "Daniel: Understanding the Dreams and Vision".

Now here the quote is cited in the book "BLOODLINES OF THE ILLUMINATI" by Fritz Springmeier.

And from here on I found no source. I am asking here, because im not sure how to really verify existence of the quote.

Thank you for your help, and I apologize for misuse of quotations, im terrible at those.

What would the effects of the use of nerve agents on a large scale against WW2 urban target like London be?

We know that Nazi Germany had stockpiles of first-ever nerve agents, sarin and tabun.

We also know that preventive civil defence measures that all countries introduced against WW1-era toxins would have been useless against nerve agents.

The decision-making process that led to Hitler deciding not to deploy nerve toxins is also well understood.

What I could not find is any kind of analysis of the effects of a large scale use of nerve toxins actually be? For instance, if V-1s were used to deliver sarin and tabun, instead of high explosives, to London.

What would have happened if Germany used V-1s to deliver nerve agents tabun and sarin to London?

We know that Nazi Germany had stockpiles of first-ever nerve agents, sarin and tabun.

We also know that preventive civil defence measures that all countries introduced against WW1-era toxins would have been useless against nerve agents.

The decision-making process that led to Hitler deciding not to deploy nerve toxins is also well understood.

What I could not find is any kind of analysis of effects a decision to resort to using nerve toxins in the desperate late-war stage. For instance, if V-1s were used to deliver sarin and tabun instead of explosives to London. What would a single warhead with a tonne of nerve agents do? Would they disperse? Would they remain in one place?

We can assume a more concentrated initial campaign, as trying to achieve initial surprise makes more sense for nerve toxins than for high explosives. So, spring 1944, about 200 launches a day, 100 of which strike London each day for a week.

Maybe it's because I'm too young to know this but... What was exactly "Operation Gladio" and what were the "stay-behind" units ?

I feel like that there are many conspiracy theories about this. Perhaps this pollutes the historical debates that we could have on this subject ? I would also be grateful if you could suggest me French sources for this subject, if possible. Thanks !

Ancient “soldiers” turned to zombies with magic mushrooms.

So, I believe I once heard a story of how ancients would lock a group or an “army” inside of a cave for years only feeding them magic shrooms. After the whole cycle of them only eating these shrooms, they would let them out to fight, apparently these armies wouldn’t stop fighting until they bleed out, which means they would keep on fighting when missing body parts.

Now Im not sure if this is true due to the fact I couldnt find any info on the internet.. My question is, is this real? If so where can I find more info. Thanks :)
