Hey all,
I’m writing a short, 2,000 word paper on Livy and the Second Punic War (i.e. Livy’s account of the Second Punic War). Could y’all list important scholarly books and articles on this subject? I’ll develop my specific thesis as I dig into these. By important I don’t necessarily mean particularly famous- simply ones you have found insightful and helpful.
Thanks!

I keep seeing conflicting sides to this arguments and super biased opinions and just want to know the facts.

Or was it just the case that it took 500 years for dying kings to not have a legitimate son?

Elizabeth Bathory was accused of murdering up to 600 girls. However, there is suspicion that the evidence against her was exaggerated or outright faked. Does anyone know anything about that theory?
It would be really great if you wouldn't mind me quoting you in a paper I'm writing. I need to conduct an interview with a credible source, but there aren't exactly many people out there knowledgeable about a serial killer from 500 years ago.

Interested mostly in the 16th and 17th centuries. Other things I’m curious about; don’t have to answer these:
Did they associate America with Eden, or some other place mentioned in the Koran? How did they react to the Spanish “Black Legend?” What did they think of the natives? How were they affected by the introduction of tobacco, chocolate and syphilis? How did the Barbary pirates fit in?

Hitler always liked his self-made title "The Fuhrer". I'm just wondering if other world leaders actually called him "My Fuhrer"? Because that would imply some form of obsequiousness, when they call him "My Fuhrer" or did they go with "Dear Chancellor Hitler" or even "Dear Mr. Hitler" ?
Edit: typo

From reading about it, it seems that the Romans put quite a bit of effort to conquer and maintain Judea. was it really that important? A piece of hills and desert that doesn't seem to have any strategic value? I understand it's the land connection between the VERY important Egypt and the rest of the east, but it seems that most of the transportation of goods from Egypt was naval. So... was the province of Judea important to the Romans or was it just an obscure piece of land in the east? (I'm talking about pre-Christian Rome)

So the West Saxons subjugated all the other Anglo-Saxon kingdoms in Britain and formed England (Angle/Engle land). The part that confuses me here is this: if the new rulers of most of southern Britain, the West Saxons of Wessex, managed to form a new nation, why did they call it Angle/Engle land? Why not say, Saxonland or Westseaxnaland? Why name your new united kingdom of England after a different, often rival confederation like the Engles, rather than Saxons like yourselves? If somebody could give me a hand with this that would be great as I’ve been wondering about it for a while now.

Deanna Durbin, Judy Garland, Doris Day, Debby Reynolds, Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth etc. Yet it seems all the male stars all kept their names. Why was this?

I’ve seen this pic of this castle a lot and I wonder if anyone know if the castle is real (or has been destroyed) or if it’s just a fake castle. Hope I find a answer here and good day.

[This] (https://imgur.com/a/r3rd3) is an old print we found hidden under a photograph we bought some time ago. With the help of a redditor we were able to read the description "Schloss Planta bei Meran", but I would love to know who's signature is on the right bottom. Does anyone here have an idea?
