I’ve been listening to a few lectures on the industrial revolution in Britain and it just sounded really awful and unequal for the workers and it made me curious as to how it compares to current day western society? I know that these things will have changed a lot from region to region and year to year so to be more specific I’d like to find out more about the wealth inequalities of:
Early industrial revolution in England
Victorian era England
Renaissance Italy and/or France

I wanted to see if any of you knew of ancient source material describing the (supposed) masses of people amazed as Caesar walked into Rome after relieving himself of his Triumph in order to run for Consul. I'm writing a paper and I think describing that moment would be really cool to include in my paper.
I've heard history youtubers and read articles that describe this moment but they do not cite anything to prove it. Thanks!

I am still having trouble understanding why more wasn’t done to protect the very large population of the Srebrenica Safe Zone and why such a small force was left to defend it and even after the reports of atrocities the UN and NATO did next to nothing to curb the violence of reinforce the Dutch stationed there. Is there a clear answer?

During nearly every revolution, the rebels are often beset by fighting among their own ranks over power, ideas, etc. Was there any of this during the American Revolution, or was everyone for Washington?
Was there any third party who was against both sides during the war? If so, who were they and how did they react to the revolution?

My World History teacher told me this today, but I found it hard to believe. Can I get a historian to confirm this?

In the 1940s, George Gamow was one of the world's leading experts in nuclear physics, and defected to the US in the early 1930s, and he became a naturalized citizen in 1940, but unlike many other European defectors and refugees from Axis countries like Germany and Hungry and Italy, he was not asked to work on the Manhattan Project. Does anyone know why this was?
Was there something about Gamow himself, or was it a more general bias/ exclusion towards former Soviet citizens, even if they had become citizens (considering the A-Bomb was kept secret from the USSR until the Americans dropped it.)
Thanks!

I'm trying to understand why Sunnis and Shias are so divided.
Is it because of the discussion after the death of Muhammad, or has it something to do with the rivalry between Saudi-Arabia and Iran that has been going on since the Iranian revolution? Follow-up; is that rivalry because of the sunni shia divide or something else?

After a few cursory searches, I haven’t been able to find any historical basis for these characters. Do we have any evidence for them? If so, what types of targets would they be sent to hunt down?

Were there any significant voices among the allies calling for the USSR to return the territory they took in 1940? Was there concern that allowing this even though the USSR had been the clear aggressor would lead to greater audacity in Soviet expansionism?
In a somewhat related question, since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 has there been voices in Finland demanding the return of the territory (particularly Petsamo, the loss of which greatly hurt Saami communities in Finland, if I understand correctly)?

My partner and I are trying to do a project exploring antiquated laws throughout the United States, how they came to be, and what kind of impact it has created in these communities. The end goal is to use these laws as a way to bring the community together through through the quirkiness of them, and potentially increase tourism in these areas. If anybody has any resources that you could send me (literature, phone numbers, emails) we would be eternally grateful, and would give you credit when this is complete.

I've been reading about Roman history lately, and it's interesting (though unsurprising) how hard it is to find the barbarian POV on events.
I know it can be hard to find information like this, but I'm really wondering what the various tribes who started sacking Rome and other major cities towards the end of the Western Empire thought of the advanced structures. In the Middle Ages, it seems like it took the Germanic and Frankish people a long time to approach that level of sophisitcation again, and I'm wondering why they didn't have captured Roman engineers to learn and copy from, etc? Did they just not care? Were they in awe of the coliseum or pantheon but unable to replicate them?
Thanks for any information on this topic!!

May be a little bit below your pay-grade, but for a school project I have to document and write a paper on common themes of the Catholic Church throughout it’s 2000 year history. Any suggestions?

I'm writing the plot for a comic I'm making for a class assignment and it involves a former gang member being a suspect for a murder that happened 15 years ago, during which he had left the gang and fled across the country.
I'm just not sure if a murder investigation in a dodgy area would last that long. What if the police got a tip as to who it may have been years down the line?

It was the Judy Garland piece on r/todayilearned. It was about how she was exploited by MGM, molested, and drugged so she could work longer. https://www.express.co.uk/expressyourself/167269/Dark-side-of-Oz-The-exploitation-of-Judy-Garland
