Is there any validity to the "Black Israelites" theory?

As in the idea that African Americans are actually Hebrews who settled in the slave coast and were subsequently brought to America.. Or something along those lines. I heard something about it in the new Kendrick Lamar album and met a guy who told me it was true... Is there anything to this theory or is it just afrocentric fluff?

In the early stages of the industrial revolution, how well was it known among experts that labor losses in the agricultural sector would be offset by gains in the industrial sector?

Title's pretty self explanatory, by experts I mean essentially leading industrialists, economists, etc.

How did Medieval kings gauge the military potential of their neighbours before acting against them?

Since kings in the Medieval era relied so heavily on their vassals' levies to make up their armies, how could they know how many opposing soldiers to expect from their rivals before making a move against them?

Edit - Pardon me, I should have definitely been more specific with a timeframe. I'm curious to know as to how they could gather this knowledge from neighbouring nations around 700-1100 AD, before most European nations had a standing army.

How could a leader know the capacity of an enemy leader's armies before they are called to arms?

Was Lend Lease necessary for Soviet triumph?

Hello, I was reading some sources on lend lease including the ones wikipedia uses for their article on lend lease program and came across some interesting statistics. Some of these include the fact that the Soviets were supplied enough to supply 60 combat divisions. However it does not say for how long. Other of these basically say that without lend lease the USSR would have been without supply and lost early decisive battles and lost the war. Is this true? Was the Soviet victory in the East impossible without US supply?

Were Allied planners worried about a potential Spanish campaign in 1940-44?

If we try to understand the Allied view of the world in, say, 1941, it is by no means certain that Franco will stay out of the war. Spain entering the war would have significantly altered Allied war plans and resource allocation.

So: did Allied planners fear Spain's entry into the war, or 1) was Spanish military involvement considered unlikely 2) was Spain considered strategically irrelevant and no plans were made to divert substantial military power there?

Thanks for reading.

What Caused the 1993 Israel-Palestine Oslo Peace Accords to fail?

I've been reading up on the 1993 peace accords (brokered in Oslo) recently and I'm struggling to identify something definitive that caused it's failure - I understand both sides essentially renegade on their side of the deal but was that because of the asymmetry of the process (Palestine having little to offer)? The representatives having little legitimacy (Isrealis/Palestinians population didn't accept this)? Or something else?

How/why did the Austrian Empire become diplomatically isolated in the aftermath of the Crimean War?

When Austria refused to honour the Russian alliance, instead declaring neutrality, and pinning down large Russian armies along the Danube, it clearly estranged itself from the Russian Empire. Yet, it doesn't seemed to have gained any consideration from France or Britain for this position.

Just a few years later, France and Austria would be at war in Northern Italy, and a decade later, British neutrality would permit the Prussian reorganization of Central Europe. How/why was the Austrian position on the Crimean War reached?

How/why was Austria left diplomatically isolated, instead of forming a new alliance with France or Britain?
