So I'm a student still myself, no access to fancy college stuff. One of the students' final projects is on Russian neo-nationalists, and is trying to find a letter signed by a group called Mladorossi, from 1935. The only listing on google is an ebay listing for the letter itself. Is it even possible to find this based on the information we have? That's everything that I've been told as of now.

I wanted to read Acemoglu's "Why Nations Fail". Someone suggested me to read Diamond's "Guns, Germs and Steel", Landes' "The Wealth and Poverty of Nations" and De Soto's "The Mystery of Capital" before, because some sections of Acemoglu's work reference and cricize them.
Now, I've noticed that the first two have been really criticized, specially because of the method employed to execute the investigative work. This is why I was wondering if it was worth it reading them (after all, these are not brief books).
Also, I would appreciate other suggestions on similar works.

What are some of the earliest cases of document tourism? Or even tourism industry/people making money with tourists. And by tourism i mean something along the lines of traveling just to see something specific or for the sake of traveling. Something like visiting the seven wonders of the world, or similiar.

This list is kinda amazing. I feel like I know a good number of idioms from various other trades and occupations, farming, smithing, land-based militaries, but sea was like an idiom factory. How'd all these words and phrases make the jump?

I understand that in certain bombing runs the planes could launch from an aircraft carrier and fly over the targets to an allied country (like during the Doolittle Raids). But in a scenario such as Pearl Harbor, with no allies of Japan around, where did these planes land?

HI, I was doing allot of research recently on Japan's annexation but i found there was a major lack of information. One of the areas I want to know more about is how Japan took over Korea and how they maintained control. I coudltn find any information of wether they used direct or indirect control. What rules were inforced. Also I found articles claming that the Japanese used forced labor yet there wasnt any more information.

I didn't even know this was a thing. My European history class focuses a bit on the Frankfurt school. Required reading of Horkheimer and Adorno. I typed it in YouTube to get some videos to help understand more and it immediately opened up a rabbit hole of conspiracy theories.
It's also all over Reddit if you search "cultural Marxism". I have read a decent amount of their work and never once came across "cultural Marxism" or "political correctness".
I still don't know what "cultural Marxism" means.
Where does this conspiracy originate? How new is it? Did the founders of the Frankfurt school ever comment on it? It's almost impossible to find actual videos on Critical Theory because you're immediately directed to conspiracy videos by self-proclaimed "MRAs" and "anti-SJWs". It's quite fascinating.

Currently I am fascinated by the presence of communist sentiment in Germany during and following the First World War and am curious as to how they felt about the communist state of East Germany following the Second World War. Was it seen as a mission accomplished even if the DDR was not all of Germany?
This could be quite a broad question - feel free to ask me for specifics. It is something I would like to know.

Dis the scuttling of those 77 ships in Toulon prove vital to the war? Would the North African campaign or the German blockade had been seriously affected?

I'm trying to find primary sources in medieval Occitan. Are there any letters, documents etc. in Occitan ideally available online? I'm interested in the 14th century, but would be happy about pointers to any accessible sources.

The PRC government officially recognizes 56 ethnicities (here's the list). That seems low. How did this list of 56 arise?
(Is this low? I'm not totally sure, so I've checked some other countries. For comparison, Wikipedia says Nigeria, with a population 1/7 China's, has over 500 ethnicities, yielding a density of about 65x China's. And it's not just about ethnic homogeneity either. To see why, look at another example: Armenia. At 98% Armenian, it is a fairly homogeneous country. Yet Wikipedia lists ten ethnic groups. Given Armenia's population of only 3 million, this yields a density of 80x China's. So this seems to be an issue of how ethnicities are officially defined.)
Secondary question: I read (I think in Odd Arne Westad's Restless Empire) that the early PRC leaders took cues from Stalin in their management of ethnic minorities. What did they find useful in Stalin's approach?

A lot of documentaries on the Battle of Britain describe it as "close fought," but are really vague on what that means. It seems to me that since the British had the option of refusing to intercept German attacks, they could control their attrition rate at will.
Did any realistic victory scenarios exist for the Germans? Did they ever make a serious dent in the British aircraft industry, or shut down a large portion of Britain's airfields? Could they have somehow secured sufficient control of the air to launch Operation Sealion?
Thank you for reading.
