Any historical college or institution would be a fitting example. I'm curious as to how people knew to apply there and how they matriculated, given technology made communication and travel very difficult.

Is it just because communism represents the enemy? Or is it because a communist Europe would have a negative impact on america's economy? Wouldn't this mean that it's still ultimately a economic reason? Where do you draw the line between Economy and Politics?

What kind of tea from China did the Russians prefer over the past 400 years? I read this Wiki page, but the information is quite scarce. I know that tea bricks were exported through the caravan trade routes and that's about it.

There is a huge list of parallels or analogues in Star Wars in comparison to reality. Do these extend to its politics?

I've been watching the History Channel's "Hunting Hitler" series, and it's got me wondering if the claims in the show are valid, or if they're TV magic.
Did the US ever seriously pursue these claims? Was there any validity to them? Does credible evidence exist, either that he escaped, or that he died in Berlin?

In episode 19 of the anime [Samurai Champloo], there is a scene where law-enforcement blockade a road and force everybody to step on a Christian symbol. If a person who steps on the symbol starts praying then the police would arrest them for being Christian.

For instance, did troops actively avoid active flu zones? Were they quarantined from outbreak? Did it affect one side more than the other?

In the European and Middle Eastern cultures, the idea of a "vital spark" that makes the difference between a living and a dead thing is ubiquitous, stretching from the ancient Greek "pneuma" to Judaic "ruach" to relatively recent vitalistic speculations.
This "vital spark" is often equated by esotericists (and historians of religion and philosophy with a syncretistic bent) to the Chinese "Qi", but, to me, the two are hardly alike - I believe that in Chinese religion and philosophy, Qi was always posited to be inherent not only in living beings, but also in inanimate objects and even terrain features. So, unlike a "vital force", the Qi does not appear to constitute the alive-ness of living beings. How else did the Chinese attempt to explain the difference between living and dead things? Did they attempt it at all? Did they even see a qualitative difference between the animate and the inanimate, or were all things considered "alive" in their own fashion, with some of the alive things able to do what, to the "Western" philosophers signified life, such as moving, breathing, eating, etc, and others unable to, but no less "alive" for the lack of it?

I need reasons why Canadian-Japanese Internment was a good idea. I have one of three arguments already stating that they were a potential threat. Anyone else have ideas on arguments and evidence about this topic?

I'm basically looking for some books that will familiarize me with the main events of the war, so nothing too specialized is necessary, thanks in advance!
