I noticed while watching The Admiral: Roaring Currents that many of the Japanese military have these huge metal designs sticking out of their helmets. I assume it wouldnt be hard for a combatant to grab one and get an easy stab in.

I also heard that the "Napoleonic Code" had its own 5 set of rules. Is that true?

Did they supply weapons or training? Did the taliban already exist? What role did Bin Laden had during those times?

I'm wondering. I'm talking like a soldier is in his trench and hears through radio or whatever that the war is over. Do they just walk over to the German camp and smoke cigarettes together or something? Do they hear the announcement and just pack up and leave and if so, how?

Just wondering about what happened to the soldiers on both sides, within minutes and hours of the wars being over.

I'm looking for the history of cunnilingus in an heterosexual view point; and I'm searching for documents, writings, records, of the act being performed. The first porn was created around the 1880's so I'm also wondering if we have any early visual records of cunnilingus being performed during that time as well.

I would like the earliest forms all the way up to the 1950's because I feel there are actually some good information around 1950's to present in regards to men performing oral sex on women.

I find myself becoming an almost complete misanthropist. We have such a morbid history and I think that without the advancement of the world's weaponry and the revelation of the internet, atrocities would probably still be occurring and frequently. All flying under the radar.

I just finished reading about the Japanese unit 731 and what the prisoners were subjected to and I find that my emotions end up getting the better of me, which ultimately puts me in a prolonged state of depression. (I've also researched quite a few topics that elicited the same reaction)

Things like this put me off attempting to learn about our history (Not even sure I still want to). I don't want to be ignorant, but it's doing a number on my mind, forcing myself to learn this stuff.

For those of you who do find themselves getting emotional when conducting research, how do you deal with the anger, sadness, hopelessness and everything else that may accompany your studies?

EDIT: Thank you for your responses, really, thank you. The different perspectives has allowed me to change my view on the study of history. I think that in itself is what history is all about. Not only about learning our roots, but learning from others, how to better ourselves and man as a whole. I've become a better person mentally, from reading the responses here and I no longer feel imprisoned by my despair.

So, this might be a bit of misremembered lore, but I thought I recalled Mathew Restall stating Moctezuma's Zoo included human inhabitants. Restall might even have gone so far as saying Moctezuma wanted to include Cortez in the zoo. Does this have a basis in fact? Would any humans, possibly with physical disabilities, be included in the zoo? Did the Aztec perspective on health and disability differ from European concepts?
